A small story for UNDAE a.k.a. me/Stella
on the Radar column.
There is something mesmerizing and awkward about seeing a piece for you published —and in my case also "a piece of me".
Having worked in communications for big companies for many years, I was used to seeing my work "out in the public". But regardless of whatever little personal thing I could express there, I was not representing me, it was not personal, not even in the times that the text may "have spoken to my heart and soul". Furthermore, as I was always trying to do a million things simultaneously, I never had the time to really put my UNDAE work "out there". So, when I got contacted by Kathimerini, I almost couldn't believe it. I was honored to be selected and to be part of this interesting-people-and-things group. I was elated.
“UNDAE is very personal for me.”
UNDAE is very personal for me. My creations are inspired by the people that are intended for, their personalities, their interests, their aesthetics. I often design led by my feelings, and I get inspired by architecture, archaeology, art, nature and land-forms, and whatever else may cross paths with me or ignite a memory. I have experimented and created jewelry with various materials in the past and I intend to continue so.
Unda-ae: the wave in Latin. Undae the plural, the waves expressing the fluidity of life and forms around us.
